Pinnacle International Excellence Award
International League: Art & Culture

Multicultural Arts Victoria received the Pinnacle International Excellence (PIE) Award in the International League for Art & Culture. MAV CEO Jill Morgan AM received the award in Penang, Malaysia at the black tie PIE Awards event with over 300 notable VIPs, foreign dignitaries, distinguished guests and representatives from around Asia. The PIE Awards 2014 was established to acknowledge emerging and established organisations and brands that have excelled in their respective fields and made significant contributions to society.

Multicultural Arts Victoria’s CEO Jill Morgan AM received the 2013 Sidney Myer Performing Arts Awards’ Facilitator’s Prize for her work as one of Australia’s most outstanding leaders of diversity in the arts.

Top 10 Lead Organisations by Creative Victoria

Multicultural Arts Victoria was selected as one of only ten Lead Organisations by Creative Victoria (formerly known as Arts Victoria) for the recognised and essential role it plays in contributing to Victoria’s cultural landscape. The organisation was recognised for its ability to deliver a high level of service in particular areas and to a scale and significance for the Victorian arts sector and broader community.

OAM Order of Australia appointment

Multicultural Arts Victoria’s Board Member Miriam Suss was honoured with an Order of Australia Medal of the Order (OAM) on the Queen’s Birthday for her service to the Jewish community. In the Australian honours system appointments to the Order of Australia confer the highest recognition for outstanding achievement and service.

Australian Arts in Asia Awards, Finalist (Dance)

MAPFest (Melaka Arts and Performance Festival) was nominated as a Finalist in the Dance category in the Australian Arts in Asia Awards. The Awards celebrate the important role Australian artists and arts organisations play in enhancing Australia’s relationship with Asia. Directed by Tony Yap, MAPFest has been supported by Multicultural Arts Victoria since its pilot year in 2009.
