Make music your business!

Multicultural Arts Victoria and Riverlinks Eastbank are excited to announce the inaugural Shepp Music Biz Forum which will be held in the last weekend of February at Riverlinks Eastbank in Shepparton.

This will be an inspiring, informative and fun weekend of free workshops for emerging singers, songwriters, musicians, producers and band managers in Shepparton and surrounds who want to get connected locally and get heard globally.

Over two days there will be a range of workshops, talks and panel discussions featuring guest speakers and artists Deborah Cheetham AO (Indigenous opera singer, composer), Coco Eke (Label Manager, Bad Apples Records), Dean Linguey (Senior Arts Officer Contemporary Music, Creative Victoria), Chris O’Neill (Writer Services, APRA|AMCOS), Joel Ma (MAV Music Program/ artist), Will Kendrew (ABC Open Producer), Brad Boon (artist/ band manager), Clayton Murray -Mitchell (Director 3 Riverse Festival), Billy Kelleher (MAV Artist Services), Kitchener and Phyllis Robertson (artists), Ken Cameron (Manager Riverlinks).

The weekend will also feature some performances by up and coming young talent in Shepparton including socially conscious hip hop from EH Music artists, acoustic Island gospel and soul tunes from Claudia and Brandon Robertson, and a Word and Mouth showcase.

Multicultural Arts Victoria organiser Anita Larkin says, ‘This will be a great opportunity for emerging artists in Shepparton, including those from culturally diverse and Indigenous backgrounds, to learn about the business side of music and some of the things they can do to develop a career in the music industry. We have some top quality speakers and artists coming who will share many years of experience and knowledge and hopefully inspire local artists to pursue their dreams and be serious about their music!’
