Sunday 15 June 2014
12 - 5pm
Fitzroy Town Hall, 201 Napier St, Fitzroy

Getting there: Tram routes 112 (stop 14) or 86 (stop 17), plan your route with Tram Tracker

Fitzroy Town Hall opens its doors and Napier Street gets closed off for an all-day block party with three stages of nonstop world music and a vibrant cultural marketplace.

Dance to traditional rhythms from Sudan to Iran; relish the distinct urban sounds coming from Melbourne’s diverse communities, whilst inhaling the aromas of an Ethiopian coffee ceremony and tasty authentic foods from all corners of the globe.

Take a break from dancing to join in some free cultural workshops, storytelling circle, henna tattoos, hair braiding and kids’ activities.

Wind up the day on the dance floor with energetic West African dance and rhythms from Lamine Sonko and the African Intelligence.

Be part of this one of a kind grass roots event which will unearth and showcase some incredible talents from Melbourne’s emerging and refugee communities while paying respect to Indigenous Australians as the first people of this land and recognising their continuing spiritual, physical and cultural connection to the land.
