New CEO Announcement

The Board of Multicultural Arts Victoria (MAV) are very pleased to announce the appointment of Veronica Pardo as the new Chief Executive Officer commencing 3 September 2018 (Monday).

Veronica comes to Multicultural Arts Victoria after having worked for nine years at Arts Access Victoria where she was the Executive Director of the state’s leading arts and disability organisation.

Veronica is an experienced leader and through her work, she has led an ambitious agenda of social and artistic transformation for people with a disability and the communities in which they live. Veronica has a passion for social justice and equity, and she has spearheaded campaigns relating to the inclusion of all people in arts and culture, as audiences and cultural innovators.

Michael van Vliet, Chairperson of MAV, says, “On behalf of the Board, I would like to say how excited we are to appoint someone of Veronica Pardo’s capability and experience to fill the role of CEO. Veronica comes from an arts management background and her enthusiasm for her work is unbridled. Veronica has big shoes to fill, replacing our much-loved long time CEO, Jill Morgan AM, but I am sure she will step confidently into the role, bringing her own unique approach and be a champion for Multicultural Arts Victoria. The Board and I look forward to working closely with Veronica.

Veronica Pardo, incoming CEO of Multicultural Arts Victoria, says, “I am delighted to be taking on the role of CEO of such an esteemed and important organisation as Multicultural Arts Victoria, and look forward to working with the Board, staff and stakeholders to build on its impressive history to create new platforms for diverse artists. I am particularly focused on engaging partners in social and artistic transformation, opening up the creative industries to initiatives that are led by diverse artists towards equal representation. I congratulate Jill on her amazing legacy and look forward to working with her to achieve a smooth leadership transition.

Veronica has a very successful history of employment at senior levels in the not for profit sector, with a major focus on policy and advocacy. Multicultural Arts Victoria warmly welcomes her to the organisation.
